About Us

We are La Palabra de Dios Community Church originally founded by Pastor César and Lucero Morales in Pittsburg, Ca in 1989. Our Church began at 12th Street and Harbor in Pittsburg, Ca. It was a small Spanish-speaking congregation of 12 people.

Pastor Cesar Morales was not only a pastor, but also a mentor, counselor, and friend to each member of the congregation. The Church quickly grew too large for the small building and we began a journey in the 1990's to find a place for 120+ people.

New pastors Ramón and Alicia Guzmán were now pastors of the church in the early 2000s. They worked to raise funds to purchase a building. During this time, the church leased two buildings in Bay Point and four buildings in Pittsburgh. It was a church on the move but with purpose and focus.

So, by the power of God, prayers and 18 years of service in ministries, in 2007 Ruben and Andrea Herrera became pastors of The Word of God Church. Through this leadership a building was finally purchased to mark a home for the church, 611 E. 3rd St in Antioch, CA.

This was our blessing, our legacy, our destiny and purpose. So we think.

 But the Church continues to grow and again we find ourselves in the same situation. We were too many for our place. We now have a Church of 400-500 members.

Once again the torch was passed and now Pastor Ruben Herrera Jr, son of Pastor Ruben Herrera who started as one of the first 12 members of the church in 1989 leads this congregation.

We believe in the blessing of God, our legacy, and destiny and with this confidence we ask you to become part of our church La Palabra de Dios Community Church at 501 Auto Center Dr. Antioch Ca, 94509. This church strives to be a blessing in the community of Antioch, Pittsburgh and the Bay Area.

We are Iglesia Comunitaria La Palabra de Dios originally founded by Pastor César and Lucero Morales in Pittsburg, Ca in 1989. Our church began at 12th and Harbor in Pittsburgh as a small Spanish-speaking congregation of about 12 people.

Pastor César Morales was not only a pastor, but also a mentor, advisor and friend to all members of the congregation. The church quickly outgrew that building, and in the late 1990s Word of God Church began a journey to find a church building with approximately 120 members.

Newly appointed pastors Ramón and Alicia Guzmán were now church leaders in the early 2000s. They raised funds for a building as we traveled as a church through two Baypoint locations and four Pittsburgh locations. We were travelers.

 Then, through the power of God, prayer, and 18 years of godly service in 2007, Pastor Ruben and Andrea Herrera Sr, became Pastors The Word of God. It is through this leadership that we ultimately purchased a building at 611 E. 3rd St in Antioch, CA.

 This was our blessing, our legacy, our destiny our purpose, or so we thought.

You see, our church continued to grow. Again, we found ourselves in the same situation. We had outgrown our location. We now serve about 400-500 members.

The torch has been passed again and now Pastor Ruben Herrera Jr, son of Sr.Pastor Ruben Herrera who was also part of the initial 12 member church in 1989 is leading this congregation.
